Does your pet get enough omega 3 fatty acids and vitamin D3? These essential nutrients play an important role in the health of the skin & coat, brain, joints, heart and immune system. If your pet is itchy, has dry skin, a dull coat, sore joints or arthritis, is older or still growing, has been a bit under the weather, or if you feed a homemade diet, our new Salty Sea Dog oil is an excellent addition to their diet.
Containing 100% pure cod liver oil from wild-caught Icelandic cod, this functional oil is a concentrated source of anti-inflammatory omega 3 fatty acids EPA & DHA, vitamin D3, and vitamin A. Every 1ml of our pure cod liver oil contains:
Fat: 1g
Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA): 78mg
Docosahexaenoic (DHA): 116mg
EPA/DHA combined: 194mg
Naturally occurring vitamin A: 500 iu
Naturally occurring vitamin D3: 50 iu
Omega 3 fatty acids are widely renowned for their anti-inflammatory effects, which positively impact the longevity and overall health of our pets. This is because long-term, chronic inflammation is linked to many of the major diseases seen in both cats and dogs.
Vitamin D3 plays an essential role in the health of the musculoskeletal system, as well as the teeth and immune system. Vitamin A is far less likely to be lacking, but nonetheless an important vitamin for the health of the eyes and immune system. The vitamins in pure cod liver oil are naturally occurring, rather than supplemented with synthetic compounds.
These important nutrients are often insufficient in homemade diets, and even some commercial ones. This is in large part because dogs and cats lack the ability to effectively convert plant based omega 6 fatty acids into anti-inflammatory omega 3s (EPA/DHA), and they can't effectively synthesise vitamin D3 from sunlight or plant based D2 like we can.
Omega 3 fatty acids and vitamin D3 degrade quickly in shelf stable food options due to long storage times and the high heats used in manufacturing them, making this supplement the perfect addition to even a "complete and balanced" diet.
FEEDING GUIDE
In order to meet the minimum requirements for EPA, DHA, vitamin D3 and vitamin A:
Give dogs and cats 1 pump per 5kg of body weight, per day.
If your pet is already a salty sea dog that eats lots of fresh oily fish, or if they eat a manufactured pet food that meets their nutritional needs, we recommend adding our cod liver oil as a sometimes extra, a couple of times a week. This is because vitamins A and D3 are fat soluble, meaning they can build up in the fat cells and should not be fed to excess. Same reason you shouldn't feed endless liver treats.
Store in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight.
Wipe down the pump after each use to keep it clean, and feed the contents within 12 months of purchase.

My Promise
Clare Kearney, pet nutritionist & founder
I promise I'll never make a product that I wouldn't feed to my own dogs. And if I wouldn't feed it to my animals, I wouldn't feed it to yours. Everything I've created, I've created for myself. Selfish? Maybe. But it's how you know that everything I make is unconditionally good, and that you can't get it anywhere else.
